What to tell us when you call

Every locksmith truck is a rolling parts room, and it does not hold everything. What you say in the first thirty seconds decides whether we arrive with the right tool and the right blank — or whether we have to leave and come back. Three things get us there in one trip.

1. Where you are — specifically

"Mary Esther" is not an address; the whole city is two and a half square miles and we can cross it in minutes, but we still have to know which end. A street number is best. A landmark works nearly as well: which end of Miracle Strip Parkway, the Santa Rosa Mall lot and roughly which side of it, a business name, the Sound side or the highway side, near the Fort Walton Beach line or out toward Navarre. If you are in a parking lot, say which one and what you are parked near. It changes the ETA and it changes nothing else — we would rather be accurate than optimistic.

2. What is locked, and what kind of lock it is

House, car, storefront, shed, mailbox, filing cabinet — these are entirely different jobs with entirely different tools. For a house, tell us if it is a knob, a deadbolt, or both, and whether the door is standard wood, a metal exterior door, or a sliding glass door onto a porch. If a key is broken off in the cylinder, say so, and do not try to pull it out with pliers first — that usually pushes the fragment deeper and turns a five-minute extraction into a cylinder job. For a business, tell us if it is an aluminum-and-glass storefront door, because those take specific hardware.

3. If it is a car: year, make, model — and whether you have any key at all

This is the single most useful sentence you can give us. A 2014 Ford with a bladed transponder key and a 2021 push-to-start are not the same job and do not use the same blanks or the same programming path. And "do you still have a working key?" is the fork in the road: duplicating a key you have is quick, while an all-keys-lost job means decoding the lock or pulling the key code, cutting a new blade, and programming the vehicle from scratch. Both are things we do at your vehicle. Only one of them is fast, and you deserve to know which one you are getting before we arrive.

Also worth saying out loud: whether the car is at your house, in a lot, or on the shoulder of 98, and whether anyone or any animal is shut inside it. If a child or a pet is locked in a vehicle, call 911 first, then call us.

We come to you — there is no counter

This is a mobile shop. Everything happens at your door, your driveway, your parking space, or your storefront. There is no walk-in lobby to drive to, which is deliberate: a lockout does not happen at a shop, it happens where you are standing, and every minute you spend driving somewhere is a minute the problem is not being solved. Keys get cut and programmed in the truck, on site, while you wait.

Hours, and what "around the clock" means

We answer the phone for lockouts at any hour, including nights and weekends, because that is when people lock themselves out. Scheduled work — rekeys, spare keys, hardware swaps, commercial jobs — we book for a normal time of day and give you a window we can actually hit.

One more thing to expect: before we open or rekey anything, we ask for proof that the property or vehicle is yours, plus a government ID. Every time, no exceptions, including for a customer we have helped before. It is a two-minute step and it is the only thing that separates a locksmith from a burglar. The details are in our terms.
